Dr Deborah N. Auer
Chartered Counselling Psychologist, Specialist Rhinology Psychologist, Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor
CPsychol, DCPsych, CSAccred, PG Dip, BA (Hons) Psych.
I am a Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor and Body Image Specialist. I registered and accredited by the BPS and HCPC.
I have been in private practice and working in the NHS for the past 13 years. I am committed to providing therapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment. I work alongside the NHS as a Specialist Rhinology Psychologist. I also set up the psychology service for the Ear, Nose and Throat Department at Charing Cross Hospital. I work with individuals from the UK as well as Europe, Spain and in particular the Valencia province. I work as an assessor and clinical supervisor at the British Psychological Society independent route to qualification as a counselling psychologist. I am a visiting lecturer at the Metanoia Institute in Ealing, London. Whilst completing my doctorate I worked for a Reconstructive, Plastic Surgeon who specialised in rhinoplasty surgery. This has provided me with unique insight and understanding as to what motivates people to pursue cosmetic surgery and it also led me to research what psychological support is most useful to patients throughout their cosmetic surgery journey.
I provide specialised support for individuals considering or having undergone cosmetic and or reconstructive surgery.
I currently offer online sessions via a secure video platform.
Something in your life has motivated you to seek therapy, it may be work, relationship or physical health-related. Whatever the reason, the daunting prospect of therapy for most people tends to be finding and meeting a therapist for the first time. Therefore, I hope the information I provide, will go some way in helping to relay some of your fears and anxieties and if nothing more, just help to inform you about the process of therapy.
I work with adults on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim to enable you to enhance your life and to live it more fully. My training includes Doctor of Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy, postgraduate Clinical Diplomas in both Psychotherapy and Psychodynamic Counselling and a BA (Hons) in Psychological Counselling.
